Join us Saturday, March 26th from 6-9 for an Artist's Reception celebrating our first European Artwork Exhibition with French artist Jean-Pierre Besenval. Jean-Pierre joins us from Paris for a twelve day exhibition featuring his latest collection of 15th Century style paintings on wood-panel of the Tuscan & Umbrian landscape.
We kick off this special exhibit on March 26th with a reception to meet Jean-Pierre from 6-9. Refreshments will be served. The exhibit will be on display through April 5th only, when most works will return to Paris.
Jean-Pierre was born in Paris in 1956 to a family that originated from Italy. In 1977 he studied with Georges Guillot, a master artist in painting on wood, at his studio in Rue des Francs Bourgeois, Paris. From 1978-1981 Jean-Pierre pursued his passion for the Italian Renaissance period, and refined his studies in Florence while painting in the Tuscan countryside.
His works have been displayed in the Cloister of Billettes in Paris and has worked for fashion designer John Galliano of Christian Dior. In 1984 he opened his own atelier, an art gallery in the Marais neighborhood of Paris. Jean-Pierre divides his time between Paris and Panicale, Italy. He currently teaches the antique methods of antique painting on wood in the U.S. and Panicale, Italy.
